Do you want to trial Apple Music but don't want to start paying for it after the three month trial? Well, as soon as you have started your trial. Turn off auto renewal and the trial will carry on and after that Apple Music subscription will end!
You may have heard, this morning Apple Music launched for all to try for free. Well, sort of. Apple offers a three-month trial where you can stream all 30 million songs available on the service, but after those three months your credit card will automatically be charged the monthly £9.99 subscription fee (or £14.99 for the family plan).
But don’t you worry, you can turn off the auto-renewal feature right now. Apple doesn’t make the setting easy to find, though. Here’s how:
Apple Music for iOS
In the Apple Music iOS app, select the small silhouette icon in the upper left corner. Then select ”View Apple ID.” At the next screen select the “Manage” button under Subscriptions. Select “Apple Music Membership” and tap on the “Automatic Renewal” toggle switch to turn it off. Are you really sure you want to turn it off? Yes! Don’t worry, another screen will pop up to have you confirm that you’d really like to do it. Once you have done this the trial should carry on for the trial period.
iTunes for Mac or PC
In iTunes on your Mac or PC, select the small silhouette icon with your name then click “Account Info.” Scroll down to Settings and under there select “Manage” on the Subscriptions line. Click “Edit” Apple Music Membership and then click “Off” under Automatic Renewal.
There you go! Enjoy the next three months of free music. If you end up loving the service, you can always start paying for it after your free trial is up. In the meantime, you may want to consider if streaming music is even right for you.
