Pricing starts at £1,049 for a 1.1 GHz dual-core Intel Core m3 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 2.2 GHz, 8GB of memory and 256GB of flash storage, and rises to £1,299 for a 1.2 GHz dual-core Intel Core m5 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 2.7 GHz, 8GB of memory and 512GB of flash storage. The new models, also available in silver, gold and space grey, are available to buy from today.Apple first introduced rose gold as a colour option with the release of the luxury Edition Apple Watch last April, before extending the shade to the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus last September and Apple Watch Sport, before most recently adding it to the 9.7-inch iPad. While the new MacBooks are shipping with OS X El Capitan, Apple is expected to reveal its latest version of Mac software at its annual developers conference WWDC, which kicks off on Monday June 13.
OS X 10.12 is expected to feature an integrated version of digital assistant Siri for the first time, after reportedly testing it for four years. The new software will contain a Siri microphone icon in the Menu Bar, which, when clicked, will launch a dark background with coloured waves, much as it appears across iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. Embedding Siri into the Mac's infrastructure makes sense - Apple has been very transparent about how it envisions its multiple devices working together cross-platforms. Its Continuity umbrella , announced at WWDC 2014, contained a range of new features designed as a first push towards seamless integration between the systems. Though OS X 10.12's name remains a mystery, it's likely to be inspired by a Californian landmark or location as per Apple's most recent releases: El Capitan, Yosemite and Mavericks. It is highly likely to be showcased in June alongside iOS 10, the latest operating system for iPhone and iPad. Updates to watchOS for Apple Watch and tvOS for Apple TV are also expected.
